Out back you’ll find our sun-trap of a courtyard, the perfect place to catch some rays when they shine. And through the red door, in what were once sheds for housing cows and pigs and farming equipment, you will find our visitors’ centre, shop and ice-cream parlour.
We’re proud to be an official Failte Ireland information point and you’ll find brochures and guidebooks here as well as plenty of local knowledge. There’s so much to do here, from exploring secret beaches to foraging in the hedgerows.
Whether you’re interested in renting bikes, watching dolphins or enjoying one of our many festivals, there’s always something happening on the Loop Head, and we’re in easy reach of many other beauty spots too. We have the expertise to help you make bookings and tease out plans – it’s all part of the service at our traditional Irish pub and we’re more than happy to help.
Or maybe it’s more immediate pleasures you’re after? Our new ice-cream parlour is a hit with all generations… and you can even pick up a tub with packets of mini meringues and marshmallows to make your own dessert at home. We’ve got dinner covered too, with our Great Taste Gold Star award-winning Seafood chowder and Fish pies – and maybe a bottle of wine and some Fairtrade Moyasta Coffee to take home too.
If you’d like to try your hand at shucking some Sealyons oysters, we have all the accoutrements you’ll need to get started, and plenty more interesting souvenirs and gifts to remind you of your time here in Loop Head. We’ve collected some of our favourite flavours of the west too, from Wild Irish Sea Veg dried seaweeds to Skelligs chocolate and Bunratty mead. And we’ve bottled our own favourite Long Dock sauces, dressings and preserves, from sweet and savoury jams to salad dressings (raspberry perhaps, or caesar) to a spicy stir fry oil.
